Annette Romios, L.Ac, founded Essential Points Acupuncture and Integrative Medicine to provide quality healthcare in a welcoming and comfortable environment where people can receive complementary medical care from a variety of qualified practitioners. We believe a healing environment supports the recovery and maintenance of human health. We have integrated calming influences into our practice that reduce stress, promote balance, and encourage well being. Our office is located in the beautiful neighborhood of San Carlos on the eastern border of the city of San Diego. With scenic views of Mission Gorge Canyon and Cowles Mountain it is a peaceful place that inspires relaxation and rejuvenation.

A Passion for Health

For Annette Romios, alternative medicine is a passion and a birthright. Fascinated with health and the human body since she was a young girl, Annette was first exposed to non-traditional forms of medicine when her Dad used home remedies to care for her. Her father learned these methods while growing up in a small village in the mountains of Greece, from his mother, who provided medical care to local people using raw herbs and other techniques similar to the ones used in Traditional Chinese Medicine. Annette’s passion for Chinese medicine began more seriously at the age of 21 while undergoing treatments for Bells Palsy, which she recovered from very quickly with the help of Acupuncture and Chinese herbs. From this experience Annette realized the importance of having alternative choices in healthcare. Now a licensed practitioner, Annette is constantly amazed at how effective Chinese Medicine can be.

Annette is a California Board Licensed Acupuncturist and herbalist. After a four-year course of study,she graduated Summa Cum Laude from Emperor's College of Oriental Medicine in Santa Monica, California where she also completed an externship at UCLA. Annette holds a Master's Degree in Traditional Oriental Medicine as well as a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from the University of San Francisco.
